It is a sturdy plant and used by wine makers more so than many other varieties. It has an intense colour, is structured and reaches high degrees of alcohol when grown at high altitudes. This promising plant is undoubtedly playing a deciding role in the wine making economy of Languedoc by strengthening resource as well as the image of the place. Vinification and ageing methods influence highly the final personality of a wine. Indeed thanks to its stucture and aromatic potential this plant variety ages very well.
