15 minutes from our winery (Saint Frichoux) lies one of the most impressive structors of our ancestors.

under the control of Prosper Mérimée, who not only was the general inspecteur of historic monuments, but the
writer of well known stories such as "Carmen", "Colomba" and "Mateo Falcone".
While strolling the grounds of Carcassonne cite you may sense moments of how life really may have been in the past, as it was either on a peaceful day
or during the terrible episode of the crusade against the cathars. The shadow of Lord Trencavel is still brushing the double rampart (city walls) and its thirty towers.
If you take the motorway make a stop on the resting area between the east and west exits to carcassonne; you will find a magnificiant panarama of the cite.

Getting there and away to Saint Frichoux
By car
* From Perpignan and Narbonne : autoroute A 61 exit "Lézignan", then follow the N113 to the turn off to St Couat d'Aude. From St Couat d'Aude take the D111 to Puichéric and then to St Frichoux
* From Toulouse : autoroute A 61 exit "Carcassonnes est", cross Trèbes drive along the Canal du Midi towards Rustiques, then to Aigues vives and then to St Frichoux
* From Montpellier and Béziers take the "la Minervoise" (D 610) to Puichéric then take the D111 to St Frichoux
By plane (+ car to Saint Frichoux)
* Carcassonne : 15 mn ; contact the Airport on 04 68 71 96 46
* Toulouse (Blagnac) : 1:15 hrs
* Perpignan : 1:30 hrs
